Welcome to Calder Division

The Girlguiding units of Mirfield, Dewsbury and Woodkirk combine together to create the Calder Divison of Girlguiding UK. We are part of the United Kingdom's largest voluntary organisation for girls and young women, with around half a million members including about 100,000 trained volunteer adult Leaders and supporters. This site brings all our units together in one place so we can share our ideas and events. We hope this site will give new children an idea of what goes on in our area and enable them to find out their nearest units. We also hope it may inspire volunteers to get in touch with us and get involved. Volunteering is key to girlguiding as without the dozens of volunteers in our area we would not be able to offer 100s of girls the opportunity to be involved in an exciting activity. Our volunteering base is continually evolving and changing as people join and leave us depending on their commitments so recruiting is vital to maintain the groups we already have. If you feel you have sometime or some skill you can offer our area please read through our site.
